Before planting, saffron corms should undergo a disinfection process- scrubbing the corms under running tap water and treating them with disinfectants like sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl)

Environmental Control

The optimal time for harvesting saffron is when the flowers bloom, typically in the fall. It is crucial to harvest immediately to prevent the saffron stigmas from wilting.
